Graduate school workshop ( Columbia University collaboration)
- On October 20th, 2011, the BMES collaborated with Columbia University's BMES and hosted a graduate school workshop. Two PhD students from Columbia University talked about the Masters and doctorate programs in biomedical engineering at Columbia University. Later, they joined in a panel discussion with three of our own graduate students from CCNY to answer questions from our undergraduate students. It was a major successful event where students learned a lot about the graduate program of both schools as well as receiving information about internships and research experience.
Trip to Hospital for Special Surgery
- On March 18th, 2011, the BMES organized a field trip to the Motion Analysis Lab at the Hospital for Special Surgery. Approximately 40 BME students participated in this event where students learned biomechanics of the gait cycle and were exposed to the motion analysis laboratory through lecture and demonstrations. The workshop was hosted by Dr. Howard Hillstrom, the Director of the Motion Analysis lab. Below are the photos that we captured from the trip:

- BMES organized a CPR training event hosted by the Voluntary Emergency Squad (VES) at CCNY where 15 BMES members received training and certification.
